About wpNewsletterGermany

wpNewsletterGermany adds newsletter delivery to WordPress. It is developed by maennchen1.de in Thuringia, Germany — the same company wpShopGermany comes from.

The promise

Nothing leaves your installation.

The subscribers live in tables of your own WordPress database, and mail goes out over your own server's mail route. There is no service provider you entrust addresses to — and therefore no data processing agreement, no transfer to a third country and no question about what happens to your list if a provider changes its prices.

That is not an aside but the rule every change is measured against: every contact with an external server that the plugin makes at runtime requires the operator's explicit consent, is documented and is off out of the box. That applies to our own servers too.

What follows from it

No delivery service You need no account with a provider, and nobody reads along
No volume limit Neither on subscribers nor on sends. The limit is set by your server, not by a price plan
No IP addresses Nowhere, with one disclosed exception — see Data protection
No reference to us Neither on the front end nor in your mails. Your newsletter comes from you
Runs on shared hosting No Node, no Composer, no shell, no exec()

What it costs

The plugin is licensed under the GPL. What is sold are not licences but updates and support for twelve months — a one-off payment, no subscription, no automatic renewal, nothing to cancel.

When the period runs out, your plugin keeps running. It simply stops receiving updates.

The free package in the WordPress directory can do everything that belongs to sending a newsletter. What the paid one adds is under Lite, Pro and Enterprise.

What the plugin can do

Subscribers and groups. Any number, with multiple assignment. Import and export as CSV.

Sign-up with double opt-in and a consent record — what is recorded is not only when but what was consented to.

The form everywhere you can write: as a page, as a shortcode, as a block, as a widget or automatically under every post. In a full and a short version.

Spam protection without a third-party service — five layers, invisible to the visitor, without a single stored IP address.

Writing newsletters in the WordPress editor, with placeholders, test sends, preview and scheduled sending in portions.

Ten templates, built for mail programs — including Outlook — with your logo and your accent colour. Your own layouts can be added.

Post notification: a published post becomes a newsletter, immediately or as a digest.

Sending log — who received which newsletter.

Archive on the front end and „view in browser" from every mail.

Disclosure, export and erasure through the WordPress privacy tools.

In the Pro and Enterprise editions additionally: statistics with opens, clicks and charts, bounce processing, custom fields, attachments, REST and SOAP interface and seven more templates.

wpShopGermany

The sister product from the same company. It brings along an interface for taking customer data into the newsletter — even if you install wpNewsletterGermany later.

If wpShopGermany is running, the form configuration additionally offers the option of setting shop customers with the same address to „inactive" when somebody unsubscribes from the newsletter.
