Ahoi stores nothing on the server and has no settings that concern visitor data.

• No cookie: Ahoi sets no cookie.
• Nothing from other servers: Fonts, styles and scripts are part of the theme and come from your server. Ahoi loads no Google Fonts and embeds no third-party services.
• Light or dark: When visitors choose light or dark with the toggle, only their own browser remembers it, in local storage (localStorage) under the name ahoi-color-scheme. The value is "light" or "dark"; it is not sent to the server. If the choice matches the setting of the device, Ahoi removes the entry again.

What site owners need to add to their privacy policy

Whether and how you mention Ahoi in your privacy policy is your decision. The facts:

• Ahoi sets no cookie and sends nothing to any server, neither yours nor anyone else's.
• Ahoi loads no fonts, scripts or styles from other servers.
• The only entry Ahoi creates is ahoi-color-scheme in the browser's localStorage. It is only created when visitors click the toggle themselves, contains only "light" or "dark" and stays in the visitor's browser. It has no expiry date; visitors remove it by clearing their browser's site data or by choosing their device setting again.
