Ahoi¶
The manual for Ahoi, the block theme for WordPress by maennchen1.de. The version of Ahoi it describes is shown at the top next to the name.
Ahoi is a lightweight block theme with a calm, clear look. It works on its own, for a blog, a company site or a club. If wpShopGermany is installed, Ahoi styles the shop as well.
What Ahoi offers¶
- Light and dark: The site follows the setting of the device. Visitors can choose for themselves with a toggle in the header (Light and dark).
- Ten color palettes and eight font pairs to choose from in the Site Editor, each palette with a light and a dark version (Colors and fonts).
- Everything can be changed in the Site Editor: templates, header, footer, colors, fonts and spacing.
- Nothing from other servers: The fonts are part of the theme. Ahoi loads no Google Fonts and no external scripts.
- Tested for accessibility: Ahoi is built as "accessibility-ready" to WCAG 2.2 AA (Accessibility).
- Patterns for the home page, an about page, frequently asked questions, a hero and more (Patterns and block styles).
Getting started¶
- Install Ahoi. It needs WordPress 7.1 and PHP 8.3.
- Set up the home page: after activating, Ahoi creates it with one click.
- Under Appearance → Editor → Styles, choose a color palette and a font pair.
- Link the social icons in the footer to your profiles (Header and footer).
